Homogeneous mixing: homogeneous mixing refers to the mixing of mutually soluble liquids. In the homogeneous mixing process, the main control factor is the circulation rate, and the shear effect of the mixing paddle on the material is secondary. However, when the viscosity of the mixed two materials is quite different, the shear action of the agitator will make the liquid with higher viscosity disperse better in the container.

Solid liquid suspension: solid liquid suspension refers to the suspension of solid particles in the liquid with the help of the agitator to form a solid-liquid mixture or suspension. Uniform suspension mainly depends on the speed of circulation and the intensity of turbulence. For solid-liquid suspension, it is necessary to use a stirrer with high speed, and it is better to use low baffle and wall baffle when mixing materials.

Liquid liquid dispersion: liquid liquid dispersion refers to the dispersion of materials with low viscosity and immiscible with each other. For materials with low viscosity and immiscible with each other, the requirements for shear and circulation will be higher. For materials with low viscosity and immiscible with each other, the mixing equipment with large shear force and large circulation capacity should be selected.

Solid dissolution: solid dissolution is well understood, that is, the solid is dissolved in other materials in the form of stirring. The effect of shearing on solid dissolution is small, so the solid dissolution can be done with a stirrer with small shearing capacity and high circulation capacity.

Gas liquid dispersion: gas liquid dispersion requires gas dispersion to create enough successive contact surfaces, which is conducive to gas absorption. The main effect of gas-liquid dispersion is the shear strength. The agitator equipment used shall have a shearing effect on the gas.
