Adverse Effects Of Foam in Emulsion Equipment
Aug 05, 2022
The vacuum pumping emulsification equipment is mainly used to reduce the foam produced in the emulsification process. What will be the impact if the foam is not reduced!
1. Reduce production capacity. For example, in various biological fermentation (beer production, alcohol production, production of major pharmaceuticals in medicine...), in order to prevent the emergence of foam, resulting in overflow loss, the feeding coefficient should be greatly reduced, sometimes less than 30%.
2. Due to the generation of foam, the reaction materials overflow the reactor, causing waste of raw materials. Due to insufficient collision between raw materials, the reaction cycle is prolonged. The operation is passive and the production cannot be carried out normally due to the generation of foam.
3. The presence of foam interferes with the measurement accuracy of the liquid level gauge, resulting in measurement errors, causing large fluctuations in liquid density, causing false high liquid level in the absorption tower and distillation tower of the reactor, resulting in unbalanced operation and even accidents.
